Below is an update from Borders Buses.
As we begin to look to increase service frequency and routes, we would like to share the ways in which we are encouraging and maintaining safe and responsible travel.
Customer research
To gauge customer opinion and bus usage we have launched a customer survey – we would ask you to share through your various platforms https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BBNewWorld
Customer info video
Many people have not travelled on public transport for over three months. During this time, we have implemented a number of new measures. Our customer information video is available from our website and highlights what customers should expect whilst travelling on our buses https://www.bordersbuses.co.uk/travelling-bus
Capacity tracker
We are pleased to announce we have updated our website (with app to follow shortly) with new technology which allows customers to see the busyness of their bus. You can check it out by visiting our website X95 - Galashiels to Hawick, via Selkirk. Simply click on the timetable then click on the map.
Face coverings
From today it is now mandatory for customers in England to wear face coverings whilst travelling on public transport. This new legislation should have no impact on our current advice in both England and Scotland.
We shall continue to expect customers to wear face coverings whilst travelling on our buses in both Scotland and England. We are mindful not everyone can or are able to wear covering and we are asking our drivers and customers not to judge those who do not wear face coverings.
Service X62
On Monday 22 June we are pleased to be reintroducing journeys into Edinburgh on service X62, Melrose to Edinburgh via Peebles. This will operate Monday to Saturday with journey departing from Galashiels Transport Interchange at 0620 followed by five journeys from Melrose, Buccleuch Street at 0701, 1001, 1201, 1401 and 1501 and return from Edinburgh, Waterloo Place at 0851, 1051, 1251, 1451, 1651 and 1751.
All timetable information will shortly be available from our website and mobile app.
We plan to announce increased journeys on key services over the coming days and will ensure we keep you fully updated on any amends made to our bus service.
If you require further info, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Thanks,
Sharon
