Friends of the Hall Scheme

Scheme Summary

The Friends of Pathhead Village Hall Scheme is run by the Pathhead and

District Community Association, registered Scottish Charity number

SCO12253 as a way for the localcommunity to contribute to the    improvement of Pathhead Village Hall.

Why support the Hall?

The Hall belongs to the Community. Although there are other venues in the Village, for example the Pavilion or the Primary School Hall there are a number of compelling reasons to protect the Village Hall.

The Hall cannot be taken away from the Village as long as the Village supports the Hall. The Pavilion for example is owned by Midlothian Council who could withdraw funding at any time. This could not happen to the Village Hall. However, without the support of the community, the Hall could fall so far into disrepair that is would have to be sold and lost forever.

The Hall is the largest in the Village and has a number of unique features such as a large stage, stage lighting and the possibility of licensed events in conjunction with the Pathhead Sports and Social Club.

How can I become a Friend of Pathhead Village Hall?

Make a donation to the Pathhead and District Community Association. Donations of any size are always welcome although to qualify as a Friend of Pathhead Village Hall minimum donations are required as follows –

Individual  - £25 per annum

Family      - £30 per annum

Corporate - £100 per annum

or provide services to the Hall of this value free of charge.

Please download an application form here

I cannot afford to donate – is there any other way to help?

Yes, several times per year work days are held at the Hall. Do at least five hours of voluenteer work per year for the Hall to become a friend. On work days we need people for cleaning, painting & gardening. We particularly welcome any assistance from qualified trades pe``ople.

How will my donation be used?

The current level of hall bookings largely covers the running costs of the hall and basic maintenance. The Friends of the Hall scheme aims to raise additional funds to allow improvements to the Hall to provide better facilities or new facilities to benefit everyone in the village.

Will I see how the money has been spent?

We will try to keep all Friends of Pathhead Village Hall up to date on all developments. Full accounts of the Pathhead and District Community Association are available at the AGM. This is usually held in September.

Recent Improvements made to the Hall with the help of friends and villagers include:

- New Tables                                    Exterior Harling
